Basics of Window Blinds

There are many ways to display window coverings on your windows, decorating with blinds being one popular option. Blinds come in a variety of styles and can be used to create a variety of different looks for your home.

When deciding which type of vertical window blinds to choose, it is important to consider the size of the window and the style you want to achieve. There are three main types of blinds: vertical blinds, horizontal blinds, and Roman blinds.

Vertical blinds are the most common type and are usually shorter than horizontal or Roman blinds. They can be pulled down or pushed up, depending on the desired effect. Horizontal blinds are wider than vertical ones and typically have a slatted design so that light can enter from both the top and bottom.

Roman blinds are similar to horizontal blinds, but their fabric is folded into an elaborate design that opens like a fan when the cords are pulled. Select a neutral color like white or light gray so that your blind will match any décor in your home.

You can also choose blinds based on their color. White blinds make a room look brighter and airy, while dark colors like black and navy add depth and drama. You can also choose prints or patterns for your blinds.
